Michael Jordan is now a retired professional basketball player. He was born February 17, 1963. Jordan first played for the Chicago Bulls in 1984. This was the first professional team he had played on. He was given the nickname 'Air Jordan' since he performed in slam dunk contests. In 2001, he began playing for the Washington Wizards. Total, he received five MVP awards. Not only was Jordan outstanding in basketball, he also was a businessman. He assisted in launching his line of shoes, Nike Air Jordans. This brand of shoes remains popular today.
